Superabsorbent polymers (SAP) can absorb and retain extremely large amounts of a liquid relative to its own mass. The largest use of superabsorbent polymers can be found in personal disposable hygiene products, such as baby diapers, adult diapers, feminine care products, nursing pads, pet sheets, sand bags, meat pads and refrigerants.
